The ad contents can be in any language of your choice. Ad Man dialogs and documentation are in English only
Ad Man does not accommodate ads other than "solo ads". This means
a with text content. Ad Man is meant for high volume ads on
socalled free ads sites. Paid sites like Google provide their own
very sophisticated management systems with statistics on clicks, etc.,
something which does not figure on sites where you don't pay per click.
Currently Ad Man only provides one ad structure not suitable for Google
Adwords. Future versions will include provision for a definable
ad structure, amongst other, allowing for Adword type ads.
Where expiry rules have been provided, Ad Man will
calculate the expiury date and show it on the "Management"
screen. You can re-submit such ads from this screen. The
management screen also allows for the sorting of content, for example
you can sort by website or expiry date.
Current contracts only allow for one version on one
computer. You will have to purchase another Ad Man version for
another computer. Should we price Ad Man for multiple computer
contracts there will not be much difference in the price anyway.
Ad Man does not have any specific built support for
moving your data. You can move your folder (Working Directory)
manually and rename it. When you run Ad Man for the first time
after this, it will give a message telling you that your data cannot be
found. You can choose to provide a new working directory.
On the following directory dialog, you can simply browse to your new
drive and/or folder and click on "OK". The new working directory
will then be recorded.
You have to use your own back up utilities for
this. Copying your working directory will backup all your data.
There can be many reasons for this, but the most
common reason can be that you ini file has been corrupted. Try
first to proceed as if your data has been moved and browse to your
working directory on the dialog requesting the working directory. Click
on "OK". Should your ad data appear to be missing, you will have
to restore your data from your backup data. It seems as if you
data files have been compromised.
It seems that somehow your ini file and your program
got out of synch. Unfortunately you'll have to proceed to request
the new installation key. If this keeps on happening, please
submit your problem to our support center.
Images are normally submitted through a browsing
dialog from the website and it does not serve much of a purpose for Ad
Man to intervene. A tip would be to store all your product images
in one folder and slect them from there by browsing in the website
dialog.
In as much as the ad site allows for HTML. Ad
Man does not recognise or disallow HTML. Should the website
change your code after entry, however, Ad Man might have problems
recognising the submission. It would be advisable in such cases
to enter one ad manually without any HTML in its contents and then
proceed with HTML once Ad Man has registered the website submission and
can proceed with auto submissions.
Ad Man does not specifically provide for this, but
as far as the server or central PC can be set up as another drive, the
Windows/Vista system should handle it adequitely. Just be aware
of the fact that should more than one application want to address the
same data summiltaneously, the operating system will lock out all
others while one is busy with it. This will lead to delays in
operation.
You will only have history where you have
re-submitted ads by means of the re-submit facility on the management
screen. In such cases you can view you history there or export
history from the statup screen's "export" command.
This aspect is receiving attention and will be
addressed in later revisions. You can remove expired submission
from sight by making them "dormant" on the management screen.
This is equavalent to the ability to delete and undelete them.
When receiving a new version which needs to convert your data to
a new version, the setup process will warn you and run the conversion
automatically. After the conversion has been completed, the
conversion program gets deleted. Should there be any problems
during the process setup has been completed, repeating the setup
process should repair any out of synch data.
